Carbonor will produce biochar for the metallurgical industry based on certified and sustainable eucalyptus, a fast-growing and hardy tree species. We will capture and store biogenic CO₂, a carbon removal method that will give Carbonor opportunities to help other companies manage their emissions.
Metallurgical biocarbon
Biocarbon is a carbon material used as a chemical reducing agent in the alloy industry.
Carbonor's biocarbon is made from sustainable eucalyptus from certified farms. Eucalyptus is a fast-growing, non-exhaustive resource. The wood type is relatively hard with a high carbon content compared to Nordic wood types.
CO₂ removal
Carbonor will capture biogenic CO₂ and will be able to deliver CO₂ for use in industrial processes, as well as deliver CO₂ for geological storage.
Stored biogenic CO₂ provides Carbonor with carbon removal certificates that can be sold to other companies that have emissions that they wish to offset.
